Key points of formula design for PVC cable material

(1) The plasticizer dosage for ordinary sheath grade PVC cable material is 0.60pHR, the stabilizer dosage is 6ppHR, the lubricant dosage is 1.52PHR, and the filler dosage is 1020PHR.

(2) For enterprises that generally use insulation grade cable materials, plasticizers can be used in an amount of 40-50 phr. Stabilizers can be used in an amount of 6-8 phr. Lubricants can be used in an amount of 1-1.5 phr. Fillers can be used in an amount of around 10 phr; Refer to sheath grade cable materials for plasticizers, lubricants, and their usage;

(3) Highly volatile plasticizers such as DBP cannot be used for cable materials;

(4) In addition to using high-temperature plasticizers, high-temperature resistant cable materials should also be selected. The amount of stabilizer should also be increased by adding 0.3-0.5 parts of antioxidant;

(5) For cable materials with high performance design requirements for insulation materials, different fillers such as calcined clay should be selected (the plasticizing efficiency of polymer plasticizers is relatively poor. When formulating product formulas, the amount of plasticizer should be increased as appropriate;

(6) When formulating the formula for transparent cable materials, it is necessary to choose a coagulant with good compatibility with the resin, directly use transparent stabilizers such as organotin, and strictly control the amount of lubricant added;

(7) When designing the formula for flame-retardant cable materials, it is advisable to use a composite flame-retardant system;

(8) When formulating the formula for high polymerization cable materials, composite processing modifiers should be selected to improve their processing performance.

(9) When formulating the formula for non-material migration cable materials, polyester or polymer materials should be selected as plasticizers;

(10) When using stabilizers, their dosage is slightly greater than that of the three salts;

(11) Under the condition of ensuring the normal processing and use of cable materials, efforts should be made to reduce the amount of stabilizers used as much as possible to prevent excessive use and the occurrence of "filler network effect".
